Call for Book Chapter: Sustainability in Luxury Fashion Business

Topics: Sustainability is an important and necessary aspect of today’s fashion business. Fashion brands
need to manage their suppliers to comply with and improve social and environmental conditions in
order to fulfill consumers’ expectation on their products. The pressure to fulfill the tripe?bottom lines is
increasing as more and more consumers demand transparency of fashion businesses’ operations. Social
media play a vital role in a fashion brand’s transparency, and fashion brands are ill afforded with any
non-compliance issues in today’s marketplace.


We invite researchers to contribute their work related (but not limited) to the following topics. The
research must not be published elsewhere and be completed by the time of full paper submission. The
research shall be intended to academic researchers and scholars, undergraduate and postgraduate level
students, and industry professionals. Interested researchers may contact the editors with initial ideas or
abstracts. Upon review of the abstracts, the editors would invite the submission of the full chapter.

1. Consumer perspectives of sustainability in luxury sectors
2. Drivers and barriers of luxury brand in adopting sustainable operations
3. Sustainable supply chain management in luxury sector
4. Industrial leadership in sustainability
5. Social media marketing of luxury brand’s sustainability
6. Challenges in stakeholder management in luxury sector
7. Relationships between luxurious lifestyle and lifestyle of health and sustainability
8. The trend of using traditional and/or advanced luxurious materials, such as fur or exotic animal
skins, or 3D printed textiles

- October 15, 2016: Abstract submission for co?editors’ review

    (up to 2 pages outlining background, approach, and outcomes of the proposed research)
- April 30, 2017: Full paper submission for review
- September 30, 2017: Peer review and author revisions
- October 15, 2017: Final paper submission to the editors for publication


Manuscript Length:
- Up to 8,000 words including references
- Up to 3 tables and 2 figures
- Black and white
