Guideline for Authors:

  • Cover page
    • Research title, author(s) name, affiliation, contact information (address, phone number, and email address)
    • Indicate the type of presentation (oral or poster).
  • Abstract
    • In English, PDF format.
    • Include the title (single spaced, maximum 30 words) but no identifying information about author(s) or professional affiliation(s).
    • Tables and other graphics should be incorporated within the body of the abstract.
    • The body of abstract should be no longer than 2 pages including the references.
    • A4 size paper, 2.5cm margins 4 sides, font of Times New Roman, font size of 11, single spaced
    • All abstracts will be double-blind peer reviewed.

1. Call for Research Presentations

Related topics from diverse interdisciplinary approaches will all be considered. We particularly encourage submission of abstracts in line with the theme of the conference, Fluidity and Flexibility: The Future Realms of Fashion and Textiles which will explore innovative ideas and technologies, in and of themselves, as well as the dissolving conventional boundaries of technology, human, and creativity in current fashion system.

The scope of the conference may include, but are not limited to:

  • Textile Science and Technology : Textile Material Science and Technology; Dyeing and Finishing; Smart and Intelligent Textiles
  • Clothing Science and Technology : Physiology of Clothing/Textile Products; Protective clothing; Smart and Intelligent clothing; Sportswear; Mass customization; Apparel manufacturing
  • Economics of Clothing and Textiles/Fashion Business : Management of the Clothing and Textiles Industry; Merchandising; Retailing; Fashion Marketing; Consumer Behavior; Socio-psychology of Fashion
  • Fashion Design and Cultural Study on Fashion : Aesthetic Aspects of Fashion Product or Design Process; Textiles/Clothing/Fashion Design; Fashion Trend; History of Fashion; Costume or Dress; Fashion Theory; Fashion journalism; Fashion exhibition.
* Participants may opt to present their research online, depending on the pandemic situation
Since this conference will be held in a hybrid format, oral and poster presentations can also be applied for online.
Please indicate on the application whether you would like to participate online/offline.

2. Call for Graduate Student Research Competition Submission

Graduate students are encouraged to submit their research abstracts for a competition. A separate oral presentation session will be held for the graduate student research competition. ​

- Those who are graduating in February 2022 are also eligible to apply to the GSC.
- Students applying to GSC are exempted from registration at the conference.

In addition, a $100 prize will be awarded to those selected as the best presentation in each field.
The prize is sponsored by Mr. Mark Messura (Cotton Incorporated).

3. Call for Abstracts for ITC(HK)-KSCT  Joint Symposium

"Fashion Tech_Reshaping the Future"

The KSCT-ITC joint symposium celebrates its first collaboration in 2022 and invites submissions of abstracts from the full range of clothing and textiles disciplines.

The symposium aims to present opportunities to engage scholars of diverse interests in exciting conversations to advance our knowledge and build the future together. Both oral and poster presentations are accepted.

    Track 1: Teaching

  • Curriculum and program design, innovative teaching technique,industry-academia cooperation, etc.

    Track 2: Research/Scholarship

  • Creative research, research methods, case studies, technology applications, etc.
